Pine Tar is the byproduct of Pine wood carbonization. Made into a salve, it’s has been used for over 2000 years to treat a range of skin conditions due its soothing and antiseptic properties. In addition, pine tar has been shown to be anti-itch, anti‐inflammatory, antibacterial and antifungal. These properties make pine tar suitable for the topical treatment of eczema, psoriasis, seborrhoeic dermatitis and other dry, itchy, flaky or inflamed skin conditions and soothe minor skin irritations, cuts and burns, ease the discomfort of poison ivy, and insect bites. It’s also been used as a drawing salve and have the ability to draw out splinters and infection.
Pine Tar Healing salve has a rich, smokey scent that is not at all unpleasant.
Ingredients include: calendula infused organic sunflower oil, Pine tar, castor oil, Pine Barrens beeswax, activated charcoal and essential oils.
Keep away from extreme heat.
